    Description

For sale is my Dad's collection of fly fishing gear, or at least the part of it he gave me 40 years ago.   He was a gifted fly fisherman, loved the small streams in California's High Sierra, and took me with him often.  So included with this package is a Shakespeare Model EA Automatic Flyrod Reel still in good condition and working well.  It has the original Owner's Guide with complete maintenance instructions and even a parts diagram.  Also the original box that shows wear but is intact. Also included:
A "Kabar" Non-Sinkable knife with its leather sheath.  It's razor sharp!
A blue fishing bag In nice condition
An Army Surplus bag-turned-fishing-bag that was mine and well used for what, another 40 years.  It was my favorite.
A small plastic case containing about 30 flies, all #12 and #14.  Some are a bit tattered, but they seem still usable
An aluminum fly case with another 40 flies, all my old favorites for small-stream trout.
A little booklet on every conceivable fishing knot.
A really nice pair of very-vintage (circa 1950) aluminum folding cups.  One is 2 1/2" high and 2 1/2" diameter, the other is the same height but only 2" diameter.  Both work fine.
And since my Dad went nowhere without his pipe and tabacco, here's his old tobacco pouch that I used to use for rolls of leaders.  The pouch looks like snakeskin, but might be fake.  Nice zipper and it works well.
It's sad for me to let these things go, but at 85 yrs young and not so good on balance anymore, my fly fishing days are over.  I'd just like to see them go to someone who might appreciate the travels these goodies have done, the fish they've caught and the usefulness still in them.
I also have a wonderful Montague "Rapidian"  7' split bamboo rod that I'll be offering for sale here as soon as I find it.  I'm working my way through a storage unit and it's in there somewhere.  Perfect action and the short 7' length is hard to find and perfect for small streams.  Stay tuned!
