"Prince: Beautiful Strange" is a documentary film that explores the truth behind the musician Prince (real name: Prince Rogers Nelson), who passed away in 2016.
Since his debut in 1978, Prince attracted attention as an incredible multi-instrumentalist who wrote, composed, sang, performed, and produced all of his own music. He quickly became a star with his musical style that combined African-American music with white music and was both experimental and popular.
Prince was born in Minneapolis, USA, where 99% of the residents are white. This documentary film (distributed by Albatross Films) includes his original musical experiences in the local black community "The Way," which was visited by James Brown and others during the civil rights movement, as well as behind-the-scenes stories from his childhood told by his mentors and family, and many precious stories from musicians who admired Prince, such as Chaka Khan, Chuck D, and Billy Gibbons. It covers everything from the birth of this solitary genius to his sudden tragedy.
In a sense, Minneapolis, where he grew up, is the main focus of this documentary, along with Prince. The film is full of new discoveries, such as the club where he was based before his debut, Paisley Park, where he held a surprise concert for his fans.
I still listen to Prince regularly, and each time I discover something new and very inspirational⚡️
