Rare Promo Poster for PRINCE’s 1987 “Sign o' the Times" European Concert Tour
This vintage promotional poster from Prince’s 1987 European tour has rarely appeared on the market (this seller at least could find only one other posting for it anywhere online) though the same collaged image also circulated as postcards at the time which do crop up on occasion in the secondhand market for Prince memorabilia. Both poster and postcards like it were presumably fabricated in an unofficial capacity for sale to concert goers at one of the venues Prince performed at in Europe.
This item, which has been stored and will be shipped rolled, is printed on fairly thick paper and is in good condition. There are some imperfections (see accompanying photos for detailed views thereof) but they are limited to the one-inch white border around the image proper which itself is fairly pristine. The border has suffered several torn corners and bears thumbtack holes in all four corners. Short lengths of scotch tape have been affixed to the back in several places near or at the edge presumably to reinforce the existing thumbtack holes. Proper matting and framing of this poster would readily conceal all such signs of wear.
